Purpose: This SOP provides step-by-step instructions for resetting and troubleshooting a credit card (CC) terminal to resolve network or connectivity issues, including test transaction failures.

Procedure:

1. Initiate Reset Sequence - On the terminal keypad: - Press 9 - Press [Release] - Press the Green (Enter) button

2. Enter Admin PIN - When prompted, enter 4060 as the admin access PIN

3. Access Network Settings - Navigate to: Network > Wi-Fi

4. Toggle Wi-Fi Off - If Wi-Fi is ON, toggle it OFF - Wait for 5–10 seconds

5. Test the Terminal - Attempt to process a test payment - If successful, the process is complete - If unsuccessful, proceed to the next step

6. Reboot the Terminal - Turn off the terminal by holding the power button or removing the battery/power cable - Wait for 10 seconds - Turn the terminal back ON

7. Re-enable Wi-Fi (If Required) - Navigate to: Network > Wi-Fi - Toggle Wi-Fi ON - Wait for the terminal to reconnect - Select the appropriate Wi-Fi network and enter the password, if prompted

8. Check for IP Address - Go to: Network > Wi-Fi - Verify the terminal has a valid IP address - If it displays 0.0.0.0 or is blank, it is not connected - Reconnect to Wi-Fi or reboot the router

9. Perform a Communication Test - From the Admin Menu: - Select Comm Test or Test Connection - Confirm the terminal can reach the payment processor

10. Try a Test Payment Again - Process a small or test transaction - If successful, the issue is resolved - If not, continue to the next step

11. Check for Software Updates (Optional) - Navigate to: Settings > Software Update or Firmware Update - If updates are available, run the update - Reboot the terminal after the update completes

12. Contact Technical Support - If none of the above steps resolve the issue: - Contact your terminal provider’s Support Line - Be ready to provide: - Any error messages displayed - The network status (IP, Wi-Fi, etc.) - The steps already attempted.
